Multi-spectral IR laser-based countermeasure systems that protect a wide range of aircraft, including large and small fixed-wing, rotary-wing and tilt-rotor platforms, from infrared guided missiles.
Directed IR Countermeasures (DIRCM)
Elbit Systems’ DIRCM solutions are designed to protect aircraft against heat-seeking ground-to-air missiles (MANPADS). Elbit Systems' DIRCM Global Success
Since 2010, through an Israel government initiative program, the C-MUSIC DIRCM System has been used continuously by all the Israeli commercial airliners to provide optimum safety for their fleets. Under this initiative more than 10 different aircraft models were certified for the installation of C-MUSIC by the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority, as well as a specially configured VIP B767 aircraft for the use of the Israeli President and Prime Minister.
This success gained rapid and growing international interest that has resulted in multiple VIP and commercial large aircraft C-MUSIC programs, including B747-8i, 747-400, 777-200, 737-800, A330-200 and A340-500, which have been successfully delivered in the US, Asia, Europe and Africa.
The J-MUSIC, as the distributed version of the C-MUSIC, provides additional installation flexibility to leading customers around the world, such as the NATO MRTT multinational A330 program with dual-turret J-MUSIC configuration, the Global 6000, the Embraer KC-390, the German A400M program, B747 VIP aircraft with triple-turret J-MUSIC configuration, multiple head-of-state installations on the G650 and G650ER aircraft, and more.
The Mini-MUSIC, a world leading highly reliable and compact single turret DIRCM, was designed to meet the immense need for helicopter and turbo prop fixed-wing aircraft protection against MANPADS. Featuring plug-and-play and straightforward installation, the Mini-MUSIC has been chosen by military and governments around the world to protect their aircraft, such as the CH-53 with dual Mini-MUSIC pods, the UH-60 single turret fuselage design, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook with dual Mini-MUSIC pods, the C-295 single turret fuselage design, the AW139 with dual Mini-MUSIC pods, VIP Airbus AB-225 aircraft with dual Mini-MUSIC pods, and many more to come.
Protecting your aircraft from MANPADS in no longer a choice! With more than 300,000 flight hours across the board, the MUSIC DIRCM family are fully operational, serial produced, ITAR- free, and can be rapidly introduced to any type of airborne platform in the world.
