BrightNite™

Night Vision and DVE Solution for Helicopters

See Beyond the Limits of Conventional Night Vision

BrightNite™ is a helicopter night vision and pilotage solution designed to support flight operations in darkness, low visibility and degraded visual environments (DVE). The system combines multispectral FLIR sensors, low-light CMOS imaging and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) capabilities to provide aircrews with a fused real-time view of the outside world directly through a helmet-mounted display.

Unlike conventional night vision systems that rely primarily on ambient light, BrightNite enables crews to maintain situational awareness during moonless nights, adverse weather and challenging operational conditions. The system helps pilots conduct low-level and stealth flights while maintaining a head-up, eyes-out posture.

The solution provides an ultra-wide field of regard and supports multiple crew members simultaneously. Its fused visual presentation combines thermal imaging, low-light sensing and 3D conformal symbology to create an intuitive picture of the operational environment.

BrightNite is designed to help overcome operational challenges associated with brownout, whiteout and sprayout conditions while improving flight safety and mission effectiveness. The lightweight, scalable architecture integrates with existing helicopter mission systems and can support a wide range of platforms, including utility, cargo, special operations and search-and-rescue helicopters.

Fly, Any night, All night.

FAQ

What is BrightNite?

BrightNite is a helicopter night vision and pilotage system that combines thermal imaging, low-light cameras and synthetic vision technology to provide pilots with a fused real-time view during night and low-visibility operations.

How does BrightNite improve helicopter operations at night?

BrightNite helps pilots maintain situational awareness in darkness by presenting fused FLIR and low-light imagery through a helmet-mounted display. This enables safer flight operations during conditions where conventional night vision may be limited.

Can BrightNite operate in degraded visual environments (DVE)?

Yes. BrightNite is specifically designed to support helicopter operations in degraded visual environments such as brownout, whiteout, sprayout and other low-visibility conditions.

What types of helicopters can use BrightNite?

BrightNite is suitable for a wide range of helicopter missions and platforms, including utility, cargo, special operations and search-and-rescue aircraft.

How is BrightNite different from traditional night vision goggles (NVGs)?

Rather than relying solely on available ambient light, BrightNite fuses thermal imaging, low-light sensors and synthetic vision data into a single display, helping crews operate in conditions where traditional NVGs may face limitations.
