SYNCH

SYNCH Brings Military Precision to Everyday routine and Crises

What started in Elbit’s C4I and Cyber division now helps manage thousands of civilian emergencies every day. Meet SYNCH – the app that brings battlefield intelligence to public service.

Emergencies don’t wait. Whether it’s a car crash, a sudden medical collapse, or a large-scale public event, response teams must be fully coordinated in real time – with the right people and equipment arriving within seconds. That’s precisely why SYNCH was created. Spun out of Elbit Systems, the company adapts military-grade command-and-control technologies for civilian life-saving missions.
When Haim Teichholtz joined Elbit Systems as a young software engineer, he never imagined he would one day lead a company managing thousands of medical emergencies every day. His path took him from developing communications technologies, to founding a startup, and eventually to serving as Elbit’s VP of Engineering for the C4I and Cyber Division. But his most pivotal move came when he founded SYNCH.

Five years ago, Teichholtz and his team, Joey and Oren incubated the startup within Elbit, driven by a simple idea: to adapt the company’s advanced situational awareness and communications platforms for civilian use. Three years later, SYNCH became a spin-off – though it remains wholly owned by Elbit’s C4I and Cyber Division. Today, the company has 17 employees, many of them Elbit veterans, and serves clients in Israel and abroad.

A Lifeline in 90 Seconds

One of the clearest examples of SYNCH’s impact is its partnership with United Hatzalah, Israel’s volunteer emergency response organization. Managing between 2,500 and 3,000 incidents a day, the system automatically identifies and dispatches the nearest responders – motorcycles, ambulances, boats, or even helicopters – often within seconds of a call. Before a dispatcher even picks up the phone, SYNCH has already opened a case file, pinpointed the caller’s location, and begun coordinating the response.

“It all comes down to speed and clarity,” says CEO Teichholtz. “When someone calls for help, every second matters. The system doesn’t wait for a human to figure things out – it already knows the location, the context, and who should respond. That’s how we’ve turned what used to take minutes into a coordinated response in under ninety seconds.”

In practical terms, this means a trained medic can arrive at a patient’s door in under 90 seconds – while a hospital, specialist, and backup team are looped in at the same time. Every interaction – whether voice, video, or images – is logged within the context of the event, making post-incident review and learning seamless.

Predicting the Next Emergency

The scale of data accumulated through daily operations together with the deep knowledge and experience of United Hazalah allows SYNCH to do more than just respond. By leveraging AI-based analytics developed by United Hazalah, the platform can anticipate where emergencies are most likely to occur.

If, per say, it is known that there is a cyclist meeting in a certain location, the data gathered in the app designates that statistically one of them experience a cardiac arrest, the system can recommend keeping a responder or even provide a drone-delivered defibrillator immediately. This predictive capability, rooted in Elbit’s TORCH-X battle management technology, shows how military precision can save civilian lives.

Enhanced Command and Control Capabilities

SYNCH serves as a comprehensive command and control (C2) platform that enables organizations to streamline and automate their critical processes. The system empowers teams to communicate instantly via secure voice and video calls, one-on-one and group push-to-talk and location based management over a map,  organize targeted groups based on location, shifts, geo-fences or operational needs, and dynamically manage resources in real time.

Built-in features allow users to create, track, and coordinate incidents from initiation to resolution, while seamless integration with existing organizational systems ensures data flows smoothly and securely. With robust process management, custom workflows, and tools for monitoring ongoing operations, SYNCH transforms every stage of response, from routine tasks to emergency events into a coordinated, efficient, and data-driven endeavor.

In addition, Synch integrates with smart video cameras and other sensors, extending its powerful Command & Control capabilities. Incidents detected by AI-enabled cameras are automatically captured and routed into Synch, where dispatchers can view live feeds, assess the situation, and coordinate a rapid response — all within the same platform. This new capability transforms Synch into a truly unified hub for incident detection, visualization, and management.
Emergency medical services are only the beginning.

Today, SYNCH supports airport ground crews, utility workers, and security staff. For organizations still relying on radios and manual dispatch, the app offers a leap forward in both efficiency and safety. A technician fixing washing machines, a welfare worker entering an unfamiliar home, or a guard patrolling critical infrastructure – all can be monitored and protected through health checks, geofencing, smart helmets, or an instant SOS button.

“Technology isn’t just about knowing where people are,” explains Teichholtz. “It’s about creating a safety net around them. When a welfare worker visits a home or a guard patrols a sensitive site, SYNCH gives them silent backup, alerts if something goes wrong, and the confidence that support is already on the way.”

Because many of SYNCH’s users operate in sensitive environments, privacy and data security are paramount. The system is fully encrypted, cloud-based, and adheres to strict access policies. It gives organizations real-time command and control without compromising employee.

Global Reach, Local Roots

From Israel to emergency responders abroad, from hospitals to law enforcement and industrial sites, SYNCH is quietly embedding itself wherever coordination and speed can mean the difference between order and chaos. As Teichholtz puts it, the company has brought “a lot of Elbit brainpower into the civilian world.”

What began as an experiment within Elbit’s walls is now shaping how thousands of emergencies are managed each day – proving that battlefield technology, when reimagined, can protect and save lives far beyond the front lines.
