Peaceful Swiss Seeks Tactical Geniuses

Elbit Systems Switzerland invites skilled professionals to join their mission. "Our goal is to integrate innovative technologies and ensure readiness," states CEO Andreas Cantoni

As Europe faces escalating threats and geopolitical uncertainties, the continent is witnessing a significant surge in defense budgets. Governments are prioritizing national security, leading to increased investments in advanced military technologies.

This burgeoning defense landscape has created a pressing demand for skilled professionals in the defense industry. Amidst that reality, Elbit Systems’ Switzerland subsidiary is launching a major recruitment drive, seeking experts in telecommunications, cyber intelligence, robotics, and systems engineering.

This expansion highlights their commitment to innovation in defense technology, enhancing capabilities and addressing the evolving security needs of Switzerland and the whole European continent.

A Seal of Quality

According to Andreas Cantoni, CEO of Elbit Systems’ Swiss subsidiary, Switzerland’s traditional neutrality is vital, but growing security threats demand increased vigilance. “The Russian invasion of Ukraine highlights the need for heightened security measures and interoperability with NATO and EU countries,” he states. Bolstering cybersecurity and modernizing defense forces are essential to ensure readiness for any contingencies, maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Elbit Systems Switzerland brings a unique blend of capabilities and expertise to the defense industry. Andreas states, “Switzerland is modernizing its defense capabilities with high standards that set an example for other countries.”

This subsidiary excels in innovation and R&D, collaborating with local companies and research institutions to develop technologies in sensors, communication systems, and autonomous systems. By integrating supply chain efficiency and maintaining a local presence, Elbit Systems Switzerland enhances production and delivery under Swiss sovereignty.

The CEO notes, “Switzerland’s high standards serve as an unofficial seal of quality, making it one of the most popular environments in Europe in terms of technological advancement.” This ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and foster national partnerships solidifies Elbit Systems Switzerland’s crucial role in the local defense landscape.

Training for Advanced Military Tech

To support these growing needs, Elbit Systems Switzerland is currently recruiting dozens of employees for various positions. “We are looking for a Technical Lead to manage our Field Engineering & Technical Support team,” says Andreas. Additionally, the company seeks several professional ICT engineers and technicians for various projects and DevOps Engineers to work onsite at customer locations.

“We need engineers with expertise in advanced military technologies,” Andreas explains. “For instance, we are seeking network engineers who also specialize in tactical military radio. We understand that this field requires additional training beyond university degrees, but if you don’t have it yet, you will undergo a training process in our subsidiary.” This specialized knowledge is essential for integrating and adapting systems received from Israel and implementing them with the local military.

The Swiss subsidiary is seeking employees with a unique blend of qualifications and skill sets. “As a startup within a global defense contractor, employees must be hands-on, solution-oriented, innovative, and self-responsible every day,” Andreas continues. “We are looking for hard-working individuals dedicated to contributing to the security industry.” He also remarks, “Proficiency in English is essential for daily interactions with colleagues and customers.”

Startup Dynamics within a Global Company

A significant expansion is anticipated in the company’s foreseeable future, according to the CEO. Andreas outlines key areas for growth, including autonomous systems, large-scale military digitization, particularly in tactical communication, and electronic warfare.

He notes that the defense market is currently highly competitive, with well-established national champions vying for international markets. However, he believes there is a growing awareness of the need for new approaches to defense and border protection in response to changing global conditions.

This planned expansion brings numerous benefits and growth opportunities for employees at Elbit Systems Switzerland. As the company grows, Andreas emphasizes, the opportunity for employees to shape their future in alignment with the company’s development.

“The major advantage of working here is the combination of startup dynamics within a global company,” he says. This includes opportunities for international mobility, contributing to a global defense network, and enjoying a high degree of autonomy in their work. Additionally, “we can offer employees competitive social benefits and a work environment where the purpose and impact of one’s work are highly valued,” the CEO concludes.
