It’s all part of the plane
From producing essential structural components for commercial and military aircraft to optimizing operational efficiency for maximum results, Cyclone stands as a premier hub of Elbit Systems' Airframe technological excellence
Did you know that that many essential parts of airplanes come from an Elbit subsidiary in the north of Israel?
Meet Cyclone, an Elbit Systems subsidiary and a key player in aircraft manufacturing, providing essential aerostructure parts to leading global aerospace giants including Boeing and Lockheed Martin.
Working With the Best
“Established in 1970 and joining the Elbit Systems family in 1999, we’ve evolved to become a significant part of Elbit Systems’ aerospace division,ā said Michael, a Business Development Manager at Cyclone, shedding light on the company’s journey.
Over the decades, Cyclone has cultivated an impressive global standing, enticing leading corporations to engage their services for manufacturing of structural components.
“Our current collaborations include industry giants like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Northrop Grumman, which project very high customer satisfaction,” added Mira, a Business Development Manager at Cyclone.
Cyclone’s skill in optimizing operations and cutting costs for complex air-frame components has established them as a go-to partner for top companies in the aircraft industry. “We’re committed to delivering high-quality products on time, every time, without compromising on excellence,” Mira emphasized.
“The market is indeed competitive, but few companies can consistently offer the level of dependable solutions that lead to superior outcomes for our customers, noted Michael.
Designing for Performance
Another key factor drawing major aircraft companies to Cyclone is their deep expertise in composite materials. “In the world of composite materials, the goal is to create products that are both lightweight and strong,” Mira highlighted, adding that “our team brings years of comprehensive experience to this domain.”
Cyclone specializes in the design and manufacturing of aircraft external stores structures such as external fuel tanks and Elbit’s electronic pods.
“Our involvement in these endeavors is twofold, encompassing both design and manufacturing,” Michael elaborated. “In commercial aircraft, it’s crucial for the airlines to make sure that the design has a minimal drag impact on the aircraft, so that the fuel consumption is marginally effected.
Expanding Further
Various global events such as the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the Russian invasion of Ukraine have significantly disrupted the global supply chain, leading to substantial shortages of critical materials vital to the aviation manufacturing industry. However, despite these obstacles, Cyclone’s operational expertise has allowed them to continue delivering their products without interruption.
“We’ve established a solid system to minimize the encounter with supply shortages, even in the most demanding of times,” Mira proudly explained. “By forging strong relationships with a variety of suppliers around the globe and by having production sites around the world, we’ve developed contingency plans to counteract material and manufacturing shortages.”
Cyclone’s facility in Israel together with its global solutions, acts as an essential center for aircraft parts assembly and subassembly, serving top aerospace companies and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) while allowing its customers competitive pricing. Anticipating the future, they aim to enlarge their premises to embrace new projects and address the growing demand.
“We’re vigorously pursuing infrastructure expansion to back our growth trajectory,” Michael concluded.
