Land Applications

Electro-optic sensors

Elbit Systems solutions achieve terrain dominance with a networked array of sensors in support of intelligence acquisition, processing, evaluation and targeting at all operational levels. The advanced array of EO sensors are operational in various airborne, ground and naval applications, providing position and orientation data required for platform operation and target acquisition. The sensors provide early-warning, abnormal activity monitoring and incident management as well as comprehensive observation and reaction capabilities.

The family of long-view land sensors includes:

  • Long View CR is a versatile combined day/night system for superior long-range observation and target acquisition. The sensor integrates a long-range zoom, day channel, eyesafe laser rangefinder, GPS and magnetic compass. Mounted on a goniometer (Mini Atlas), Long View CR is ideal for acquiring targets and engaging fire from long ranges.
  • Long View CR/SW is an advanced, portable, multi-function day/night long-range observation and target acquisition system. Long view CR/SW offers continuous zoom capabilities and is easily mounted on a tripod or P&T. The system comprises a long-range zoom; thermal, day and SWIR channels; eyesafe laser rangefinder; GPS and magnetic compass. The SWIR channel, provides the operator with a detailed image in adverse weather conditions such as fog, haze and smoke.
  • LV-6 is a 9 kg ruggedized thermal imaging camera with continuous x18 optical zoom. The sensor operates in the 3-5 µm spectral band and offers a 6” (250 mm) aperture, high 640 X 512 resolution detector and a NATO target detection/recognition range of 34 km/15 km km.
  • LV-10 is a 15 kg ruggedized thermal imaging camera with continuous optical zoom. The sensor operates in the 3-5 µm spectral band and offers a 10” (150 mm) aperture, high 640 X 512 resolution detector and a NATO target detection/recognition range of44 km/23 .
  • Long View CR-D is an advanced day/night long-range multi-function reconnaissance and target acquisition system coupled with a high-performance laser designator. The system is equipped with Spot on Target (SOT) innovation technology, designed for portable and dismounted operation.

The line of sensors for remote weapon stations and observation systems includes:

  • LIZ is an advanced multi-sensor day/night EO sight, featuring grounded TI technology, a high-resolution detector, an IR optical zoom, a telescope magnifier, a color day camera with continuous zoom and an integral eyesafe LRF. LIZ is suitable for remote operations, even at long-ranges.
  • IVORY is a thermal imaging sensor operating in the 3-5ÎĽm spectral band. The sensor is designed for remote operation applications such as CWS, surveillance systems, observation towers and unmanned turrets.
    Thermal camera for IED detection:
  • CORAL-SD is a revolutionary thermal camera that can remotely detect IEDs and other covert threats under clothing, without invading personal privacy. The camera utilizes advanced sensors and cutting-edge algorithms to passively detect a range of threats and thermal anomalies including explosive belts made of plastic and potentially dangerous materials such as glass, ceramic and fluids.
